The tweet asked no question and named no one. It needed neither. One post from Amitabh Bachchan at midnight was enough. A thousand conversations followed by morning.

Amitabh Bachchan sparked curiosity across social media after posting cryptic late-night message on X.

At 1:23 am on May 21, 2026, Bachchan posted: “T 5747 – Bokhla gye log; vichar vyakt kiye; koi samjhein ya na samjhein, liye ke diye ban gaye zaroor.”

The statement roughly translates to: “People got flustered; expressed thoughts, whether understood or not, they certainly became like the givers for the taken.”

The post named no individual. It offered no context. Bachchan did not follow it up with any clarification.

The internet reacts

Within hours, the post drew tens of thousands of views and hundreds of responses. Users across platforms attempted to decode the meaning behind the veteran actor’s words.

Some fans took it as a philosophical observation about unsolicited opinions. Others interpreted it as a commentary on how people express views regardless of whether anyone understands or asks for them. Many simply expressed confusion.

The background: Health rumours

The cryptic post did not come in a vacuum. It followed days of swirling online reports about Bachchan’s health.

Reports had claimed that the veteran actor was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai since May 16. Other reports named Nanavati Hospital, claiming he was being treated for stomach-related issues.

Some reports further claimed that his son Abhishek Bachchan had visited him at the hospital’s VIP wing.

However, the claims did not hold up. A source close to the family called the hospitalisation news “absolutely fake.” The actor had visited the hospital only for a routine check-up and returned home the same day.

Sources confirmed that Bachchan was completely fine and was even seen driving from his residence Jalsa to Janak the very next day. He is currently resting at home and there is no cause for concern.

Earlier cryptic posts this week

This was not Bachchan’s first indirect remark this week. During the early hours of Wednesday, he had also posted on his blog in Hindi: “Cheel jab howe shant to bhaiya, tote bolan suru karen”; meaning, “When the eagle falls silent, the parrots begin to chatter.” He signed off the blog with “Love, Prayers and more.”

In a separate post on X earlier this week, he wrote: “No ethics… koi bhi achar-niti nahi.” His blog also read: “No ethics, no sense of responsibility… just an avenue of personal gain, without any consideration of the moment… Disturbing and disgusting.”

Bachchan has for years used X as a digital diary, numbering each post with a “T” followed by a running count. In recent years, he has increasingly shared abstract observations, philosophical one-liners, and brief reflections on life and human nature.

On the work front, Bachchan was last seen in ‘Kalki 2898 AD’, directed by Nag Ashwin, alongside Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Kamal Haasan.
